Electronic Arts recently provided an in-depth look at its upcoming shared-world action role-playing game (RPG), Anthem, as a part of E3 2018. While before the show we knew little about the project, we’ve now received breakdowns of core mechanics, progression, and content plans.
Following the showcase, Anthem executive producer, Mark Darrah, has been the source of plentiful information – outlining the studio’s decision to avoid player-versus-player (PvP) combat and make all content earnable in-game. And while no plans for cross-play, Darrah hasn’t ruled out cross-platform features entirely.
Speaking on Twitter, the producer expressed interest in cross-platform saves and is currently “looking into” such solutions.
We don’t have plans for cross play at the moment
I am looking into cross platform saves as we speak
We are looking into being able to optionally turn off the damage floaties. We will likely do that.

If cross-saves make their way into Anthem, this is expected to bridge the gap between gaming platforms. Even without cross-play, such systems would prevent players from being tied to a single ecosystem. Anthem is being pitched with a multi-year lifespan, so this would ensure long-term flexibility for players.
Make sure catch up on the Anthem E3 2018 reveal, where Electronic Arts debuted a new trailer, gameplay, and information on mechanics. The game currently on track for a February 22, 2019, release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
